This release of gemini-cli includes several fixes and improvements. The memory management system has been significantly refactored, replacing the MemoryManagerAgent with a prompt-driven memory editing system across four tiers, offering more granular control over memory usage. A new `--traces` flag has been added to enable tracing. The `gemini gemma` command now offers a streamlined local model setup. Several fixes address issues such as OpenSSL errors during streaming, YOLO mode downgrades, honoring base URLs, slash command IDE listeners, plan session state resets on `/clear`, bundling issues for extensions, workspace policies, governance file protections, custom seatbelt profiles, shell execution config spreads, project registry save backoff, topic updates for subagents, inconsistent system prompt documentation, IDE stdio overrides, nested plan directory duplication, relative path policies, shell command wrapping, theme dialog labels, detached mode in Bun, duplicate agent initialization, and dynamic CLI version for IDE clients. Additionally, ripgrep binaries are now bundled into the SEA for offline support. It is recommended to upgrade to benefit from these fixes and improvements. Ensure to review the new memory management system and adjust your workflows accordingly.
